OTHER ITEMS
1. August 7 at 10 a.m. is the date and time of CCLA’s scheduled court date concerning the Appeal that was filed on August 27, 2025. The Appeal is related to the actions the Board took on July 28, 2025, of approving the conditional use permit 24-01 and the Second Amended and Restated Host Agreement. Our goal is to have the court room overflowing – so please plan to attend. In the meantime, we continue to work with our attorney on all legal issues related to the case.
2. CCLA participated at the Graceland Baptist Church yard sale on May 16th, and as a result deposited almost $1,000 into our account to help pay for legal costs. Sue is doing a fantastic job of selling things worth at least $40 on the marketplace for sale. If you have items you would like to donate, please contact us by email at info@cclava.com, call 804-308-5748, or mail us at P.O. Box 238, Cumberland, VA 23040.
3. We urge you to continue to write letters to the editor of papers, federal, state, and local officials. Keep our concerns with the proposed landfill in front of them.
4. Be assured, we try to you everyone informed and our website is one major way for communication. Word of mouth is also so good, so please share this post with others.
5. Help is also needed in other areas such as fundraising, research, advertising, and many other ways. Please help us by sharing your talents and volunteering.
YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT
is vital as we approach new challenges in 2026. One important thing to remember we are being successful – after almost 8 full years, the proposed landfill has not found a home in Cumberland County.
THANKS TO EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU!!
