Court Hearing Update - Thank You!!

CCLA just want to take a moment and thank each of you for you attendance at the Court hearing on Friday, August 7, 2026.  It didn't go totally the way we would have liked, but it isn't a total loss.  Judge Cella decided to take standing  (CCLA's right to file the suit) under advisement and offer a written opinion hopefully within the week.  So it wasn't a total loss.  The best we can hope and pray for is that Judge Cella will rule in our favor.

Many of you brought friends and neighbors out, please share with them our appreciation of their participation - the room was almost packed to capacity.  Thank You.

On Sunday we had several new faces at our Community Townhall Meeting.  Thank you for your attendance and support.  There was quite a discussion about how long corporations have been trying to put a landfill in Cumbrland County - this is their 3rd attempt and we cannot let them be successful.  Attendees were updated on what occurred at the court hearing on Friday and that we have to wait for Judge Cella's opinion before moving forward.  There was also a short discussion on what our future actions might encounter - if Judge Cella rules in our favor (which we hope and pray he does), then we move full speed ahead.  If not, then it is decision time for us - do we want to stop at this point or move forward to appeal his decision.

The last thing discussed was fundraising and those present would like to look into having a BBQ.  Therefore, in the near future the fundraisers will meet and take this under consideration.  If you would like to be a part of this meeting, please let us know - there are many ways you can help.  We do need the funds to meet legal costs - our biggest expense.

CCLA greatly appreciates your continued support.  Each of you are an important part of where we are and what we have achieved -- Green Ridge has not turned over the first shovel of dirt!  Matter of fact, DEQ returned their part Part B application to them in June due to incompleteness.  Thank you.
