Upcoming July Events & Updates

July 28, 2025 – at 7 p.m. at the Middle/High School cafetorium, 17 School Road, Cumberland, VA  23040.  Please plan to attend and let your voice be heard!!  See flyer under the Events tab. 

1. The County released another revised conditional use permit (CUP) on July 7th.  Along with the revised CUP they also released a copy of the proposed Amended Host Agreement.  Here are PDFs of both documents for your review.

2. July 26, 2025 – a protest against the proposed landfill is planned, this is the last one prior to the Public Hearing on July 28th.   Start time is 8:30 – until at the Cumberland County District Court area, 1 Courthouse Cir, Cumberland, VA  23040.  AMMD Pine Grove Project is organizing this project and requests your participation.  It is hoped there will be a large turnout so officials and others will know the proposed landfill is not welcome in Cumberland County.  You are urged to attend and bring water and chairs, after all it is July in Virginia.

Your help is needed to assist with getting the word out to others.  One way of doing this is by putting signs in your yard.  We currently have 2 different designs of yard signs along with stakes available at no cost to you.  Please just contact us by email at info@cclava.com, call 804-308-5748, or mail us at P.O. Help is also needed in other areas such as fundraising, research, advertising, and many other ways.  Please help us by sharing your talents and volunteering.

YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT 

Is vital as this crucial time concerning this proposed landfill.  Let your voice be heard at the Public hearing on July 28th – we do not need this proposed landfill in Cumberland County or in Virginia.  Let the Board know for them to vote “NO” and give this project to New Jersey – home of Jerry Cifor who wants this proposed landfill as his Legacy. 

One important thing to remember we are being successful – after 7 full years, the proposed landfill has not found a home in Cumberland County.  THANKS TO EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU!!  It Is greatly appreciated.
